Two-day mountain biking adventure with this as the scenery? Can I get a hell yeah my weekend is awesome?

Broke in my new TranceX 29er with everything from flowing singletrack in alpine meadows to tight, technical, rocky/rooty climbs in the trees to bomber descents down creekbeds, dropping over two-foot shelves.

Not for the faint of heart, it’s got plenty to play in! I’ll be making many more trips in the future.

Not to mention it’s got Class IV-V+ creeking…maybe in a few years!

IT’S HERE!
Picked up my shiny new Giant Trance X 29er 1 today. I could not be happier.
Only thing to do, take it out and get it dirty! Time to put it through its paces.

MY NEW BIKE IS HERE!!!!!

I’m going to force myself to wait until Saturday to go get it. Finals come first.

livetheoutdoors:

I might have enough saved up by May to buy this beauty! This is my quiver-killer, the only bike I’ll need. I’ve been eyeing it for the past year; reading reviews, spec’ing components, even taking one out for a test ride.

It helps that I get pro deals from a local bike shop, thanks to my involvement in the Pitt Cycling Club and the Pitt Triathlon Club. I’ll get this baby at cost!

Reblogging myself because I made the down payment tonight! The bike will be here in April!

Thanks man, I’m really excited for the bike as well!
As for the headset head up, I appreciate it. I’ve had a few problems with the Ritchey headset and star bolt on my current Kona, so I’ll keep an eye on this setup if I do end up getting it.
Granted, the Glory sees more abuse than the TranceX, but it’s still very good to know. Hope the Glory treats you well otherwise, that’s a bomb of a bike!

Mountain Bike Recommendations!

Anyone have any input on a new mountain bike?

I’m looking around $2000. I’m dead set on a 29er. Looking for a bike that can do it all, I’m a poor college kid who can’t afford a fleet. Sorta an XC/All-Mountain flavor is probably where I’m looking.

Options so far include:

Giant Anthem X 29 2

Giant Anthem X 29 4

Specialized Camber Comp 29

Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp 29

Santa Cruz Tallboy LT

Santa Cruz Superlight 29

Trek Superfly 100 AL

Anyone own/ridden any of these, and have advice for me? Dirtrag and MTBR say good things about them all…
