Today was yet another day in which I was told I’m a guy from a Nicholas Sparks novel.
I’ll take that compliment to the bank.
I realized I haven’t put my face on here in a while, so here you all go.
Hi, I’m David. It’s nice to meet you all.

My brother received his Eagle Scout award tonight, making him the seventh Eagle in my extended family.
Pictured from left are my dad, my brother Dan, me, and Neil, one of my good friends and a fellow leader at the troop. All four of us are Eagles.
My Dad is a Cubmaster, in the Cub Scout uniform. My brother and Neil are both in the Boy Scout troop, so they have the Boy Scout uniform on. I have the Venturing uniform, which signifies I’m affiliated with the high adventure arm of the Boy Scouts.
Looking at this, it’s pretty easy to tell we’re brothers. I’m extremely proud of my brother; he’s come a long way, and I’m excited to see how far he goes.

I’ll take that compliment to the bank.
I wouldn’t mind finding someone to love.
That’s right, someone to love. Not someone to love me. First and foremost I feel a relationship is about being selfless, about caring for another to the point that you’d do almost anything for them. If they reciprocate that love, then it’s bliss.
I’m happy on my own, with my days filled with a job I love, running, singing, paddling, biking, friends, laughter, family, and driving my old car around. But every so often, when I stop to light a candle and relax for a minute, to catch my breath and enjoy a good cup of coffee, I wouldn’t mind someone to share that moment with.
I’m not looking for someone to love me; I’m hoping for someone to love.
Every Thanksgiving weekend my Dad, brother and I go to our local shooting ground and shoot skeet and trap. I did better than expected, with 18 out of 25 trap and 17/25 skeet.
I felt more than a little badass, because since this shooting range is at a country club, I’m wearing full dress clothes, tie, scarf, leather driving gloves and peacoat…felt a little Skyfall-esque!
I’d love to get my own gun, and shoot more than a few times a year…
